High definition Liposuction

INTRODUCTION TO

High definition Liposuction

High-definition Liposuction, also referred to as VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy of Resonance), is a Liposuction technique allowing to penetrate deeper into the skin, thus eliminating fat with more precision, resulting in a more toned look, and a better defined musculature.

It is a procedure preferred by people who do not see optical improvement in their form even after excessive dieting and exercice.

This ultrasound-assisted technology can even be used after traditional liposuction has been performed, as it strategically targets body areas with more precision, in order to accentuate the results. It can also be performed in cases where the desired results cannot be achieved through traditional liposuction.

VASER liposuction is extremely popular among both men and women, as it can help achieve the ‘’6-pack abs’’ look, but most importantly, can be target many body areas:

  • Arms
  • Thighs
  • Ankles
  • Calves
  • Abdomen
  • Buttocks
  • Waist

Procedure

VASER Liposuction can be performed under either local or general anesthesia. It usually takes between one to two hours, but the exact duration varies depending on the area that is treated.

VASER probes, small ultrasound- assisted devices, are placed upon the treated areas and vibrate, thus melting away the fat deposits. The doctor then ‘’sculpts’’ them to the desired form, and makes tiny incisions, in order to have the remaining fat suctioned out.

Recovery

The results will become apparent after the first two weeks have passed.

Following the procedure, you will be provided with a special garment, that will help healing and promote blood circulation, which will have to be worn for 5 to 10 days, depending on the case.

Most people return to work after 1 to 2 weeks, but must refrain from exercice, heavy lifting, smoking, alcohol and blood-thinning medications for 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure.

There is some swelling and discomfort for the first few days, so your doctor, who will provide a full recovery plan, can also prescribe some pain-relieving medicine if required.

Risks

Although considered a safe and routine procedure, there are a few risks involved with High-definition liposuction:

  • Asymmetry
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Allergic reaction to anesthetic
